1. The COA Minister Lee Ching-lung attended the G-10 group ministerial conference concerning WTO agricultural negotiations.
2. An inaugural ceremony was held for the COA Forestry Bureau's forest and conservation police force on July 1; 178 police were immediately assigned to the Forestry Bureau's forest district management offices to implement forest protection work.
3. The COA established a "Typhoon Mindulle Emergency Team", and declared 81 towns and townships in Hualien County and 12 other counties to be debris flow alert areas. The COA also declared Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, Chiayi, Kaohsiung, and Hualien counties to be eligible for agricultural natural disaster cash relief; Hualien, Nantou, Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Kaohsiung, Taitung, Tainan, and Miaoli counties to be eligible for agricultural natural disaster low-interest loans.
4. The COA organized the Hope and Concern- July 2nd Flood Relief Agricultural Product Exhibition and Sales Promotion Activity.
5. The COA convened the first meeting of the preparatory committee for the Agricultural Bank of Taiwan.
6. The COA participated in the 2004 Taiwan International Biotechnology Exhibition; the COA Taiwan Livestock Research Institute's cloned cows "Ruyi" 3 and 4 were chosen as the stars of the exhibition.
7. The COA conducted 2 sessions of workshop on the "Law to Promote Citizen Participation in Public Construction" for agricultural staff.
8. The COA approved the 2004 Main Product Mango Overseas Sales Expansion Plan.
9. The COA promulgated the "Guidelines for the Determination and Disposition of Disputed Assets Credit Department Assigned to Banks by Farmers' and Fishermen's Associations" in coordination with the Financial Supervisory Commission, the Executive Yuan.
10. The COA included farm-raised ostriches in the list of items eligible for agricultural natural disaster relief.
11. The COA held the 2004 Interscholastic Fried Egg Championship.
12. The COA held a 2004 Fishermen's Day activity, and invited President Chen Shui-bian to present awards to outstanding fishermen and fishing family women.
13. The COA hosted the 1st Taiwan-Australia Agriculture Working Group Conference.
