1. President Ma and Vice President Siew attended a ceremonial tree planting at the National Civil Service Institute, where they have personally helped to plant a Buddhist pine. On the same day, the COA’s Forestry Bureau held the 2009 Arbor Day Festival where awards were handed out to agencies, groups, and individuals who made contributions to the forestry industry or environmental protection

8. Provided guidance to 283 primary-level farmers’ associations to elect 282 presidents, 280 executive supervisors, and appoint 260 directors general

9. Held the 2009 Children’s Agricultural Tourism Poetry and Art Competition

10. Held the Taiwan International Orchid Show 2009 at the Taiwan Orchid Plantation
