1. The Council of Agriculture was put in charge of supervising the Agricultural Credit Guarantee Fund, which was previously under the auspices of the Financial Supervisory Commission, Executive Yuan.

2. The welfare pension of old-aged farmers was adjusted to NT$5,000 per month.

3. The third national rice quality contest took place. The winner was Mr. Lung-shan Lin from Chihshang Township, Taitung County.

4. The implementation plan for the monitoring team on the supply and marketing of vegetables, fruits, and flowers for 2006 Lunar New Year was drafted.

5. To revoke Taiwan’s tea-production place names that were illegitimately registered as the trademarks for tea merchandises in China, the following countermeasures were adopted: 1) to find a means to revoke those which were already registered; 2) to assist in establishing a labeling system for verifying the place of origin; and 3) to conduct a comprehensive review on the mechanism to resolve the problem of Taiwan’s famous production sites being registered as trademarks in China.

6. The Legislative Yuan passed the amendments made to the Fishing Port Act.

7. An event of promoting native chicken was conducted, in which more than 4,000 kg of chickens were donated to 40 children welfare institutions.

8. The original 35 agricultural project loan items of Agricultural Development Fund were consolidated into 12 items, retrospective from 1 January 2006.

9. An exhibition for the agricultural product traceability project took place.

10. "The regulations for designating and revoking natural landscape" and "the regulations for approval of applications for entering nature reserves” were promulgated.
