1. The “Arbor Day 2006 Ceremony” was conducted, in which President Shui-bian Chen planted a flame tree ( Delonix regia) that symbolized Taiwan’s prosperous future.

2. The Taiwan delegation attended the WTO special session for agricultural negotiation in Geneva.

3. "The regulations for encouraging the conservation of natural landscapes" was drafted.

4. The Agricultural Bank of Taiwan obtained approval from Financial Supervisory Commission, Executive Yuan to reinvest on Agricultural Finance Insurance Broker Co. Ltd.

5. The plan on strengthening the security facilities of operations counters in the credit departments of farmers’ and fishermen’s associations was promulgated.

6. "The quarantine requirements for importing day-old poultry and birds and hatching eggs" was announced.

7. "The regulations on over-100-ton vessels fishing for tunas and marlins in the Indian Ocean in 2006" and "the adjustment of the number of offshore longline fishing vessels in 2006 as a means of disposing vessels that are subject to scaling back" were promulgated.

8. The outputs of five academia-industry collaborative projects were presented. They included “Development of the enteric micro-capsules for animal oral vaccines,” “Employing biotechnology to improve aquaculture production,” “Development of vaccines for infectious bursal disease virus,” “Mass production and application of orchid mycorrhizae,” and “Taxol production by hairy roots of Taiwan yew.”

9. The agreement on production and marketing of 2006’s spring crops as energy crops was signed.
