  1. The guidance to award outstanding companies in exports of agri-products was established and announced. It will be one of the measures to assist the private sector in expanding their agri-products in the international market. The guidance will be operational in 2008.
  2. Item 1 of article 2, and articles 3 and 8 of the Fisheries Act were amended to reduce the construction and exportation of Taiwan-made fishing vessels.
  3. In order to enhance the exports of fishery products to the EU and meet the EU’s standard operation procedures, the standard operation procedures and sanitary measures for the aquaculture, freight ships, and deep sea vessels were announced.
  4. The quantity, price, and deadline of purchase of the government-purchased of the first crop of paddy rice were announced.
  5. The COA officially announced the establishment of “Farmland Bank” that would go into operation in mid-July.
  6. Imports of apples from Chile were destroyed after the codling moth larva was found in the shipment. Therefore, the COA has notified Chilean government to stop shipping apples to Taiwan before their quarantine measures are improved.
  7. The COA approved the departments other than credit department of Agricultural Bank of Taiwan to operate the custody of securities of the agricultural finance institutions.
  8. The outstanding irrigation workers were awarded in Water Resources Day 2007.
