Cabbage
Cabbage is welcomed around the world which was originally from Europe and entered into China around the 14th century. Now cabbage is a common vegetable in Taiwan.
Cabbage has a preference for cooler weather, around 15 to 20°C. The growth is slower if under 15°, it will start to blossom if continue for 15 days. The growth will not be as good if temperatureCabbage is above 30°. After collecting the cabbage, leave the root and stem in the ground, which will later grow new and smaller cabbages/a side product. Cabbage is rich in Vitamins C and can be further processed to make sauerkraut or dry kraut.
Cabbage is produced through out the year in Taiwan. Full production is during spring, fall, and winter, summer in the higher elevation areas. Similar vegetables included are Rainbow Cabbage, Bozi Cabbage. Cabbage is not only purchased for consumption but also make great ornamental displays. Cabbage has a great market share in Taiwan
Taiwan's cabbage is very good quality, few insects and no pesticides used. Current major exports to Asian countries such as Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
