COA offers short training courses to those interested in Agriculture

After implementing the Wandervogel program for the youth, the Council of Agriculture feather prepared a special 5-day course in September to help seasoned farmers fulfill their aspirations at its Agricultural Research Institute.

The course organized mostly for people in mid-life seeks to be a farmers to improve their knowledge on agricultural policies, industrial environment and develop their farming skills. Site visits are part of the training besides indoor lectures from successful farmers. The ultimate aim is to make the new farmers have a better access of modern farming methods.

The program that runs from September 25, 2006 to September 26, 2006 is open to those at least 35 years old who do not have any agricultural experience and to those less than 35 years old who are already engaged in agriculture. Preferential treatment will be given to those in their fifties (under 55 years of age).

The course tuition fee is NT$3,500 including room and board as well as a NT$1 million accident insurance policy for the duration of the training. Registration is from August 15, 2006 to September 10, 2006. Only 40 persons will be admitted, so the sooner applications are handed in the better chances of approval.
